TASTY OVERNIGHT OATS

Hi everyone!!! I hope you are all doing well and staying healthy so far :)

I thought I would share with you all my recipe for OVERNIGHT OATS šŸ’™

I'm never a morning person, so I'm always looking for something tasty and easy to make in the morning. I love overnight oats because they are so easy to make but also SO lip smacking. I also love when I get to make a recipe that has to chill overnight, because I am always so excited going to sleep and waking up the next morning knowing I have something DELICIOUS waiting for me to devour in the morning!!

I've also been on the hunt for easy and tasty recipes to make with non-perishable foods. I've realized that during this pandemic, it's gotten a lot harder to obtain and keep fresh fruits or vegetables, but these overnight oats are made with ingredients I always have in my house :)

This recipe is also very customizable- you can adjust the ingredients to fit whatever serving you want, and you can absolutely add in any type of fruit/chocolate/peanut butter or whatever else you would enjoy in a bowl of oats.

THE RECIPE

Ingredients:

- Oats: I like to use plain old fashioned oats, but any type of dry oat should work as well

- Milk: Literally any type of milk will work- I've used oat milk, almond milk, soy milk, and lactose-free milk!

Oats and milk are the two ingredients that you would really need but here are a few other optional ingredients I like to throw in as well:

- Chia seeds

- Vanilla Extract

- Cinnamon

- Fresh fruit, chocolate, nut butter, maple syrup as toppings

I would also have a mason jar or sealable container to make and store your overnight oats in.

Steps:

1. Put in a 1:1 ratio of oats to milk in your container

I will normally eye-ball the mixture until all of the oats have just been submerged in milk.

2. Add in a spoonful of chia seeds, a splash of vanilla extract and cinnamon

Chia seeds soak up a lot of liquid, so a little goes a long way. I also like to add my vanilla extract and cinnamon in at this stage as well just so they're all mixed in and infusing their flavors.

3. Mix!

Stir the mixture until everything looks evenly distributed and there are no chunks.

4. Refrigerate!

Leave the oats in the fridge overnight for the mixture to thicken.

5. Add toppings and ENJOY!!

In the morning, you can devour your overnight oats!! You can also store your oats in the fridge for up to a week.

Overnight oats I made topped with blueberries and chocolate!
